Completing the Work — Why We Give to the Building Fund

From Genesis to Revelation, God consistently invites His people to build with Him. He supplies the vision, but He entrusts us with the responsibility of finishing the assignment.

Just like in the days of Nehemiah, the work before us is sacred. Nehemiah stood before the people and declared, “Let us rise up and build” (Nehemiah 2:18). And the Scripture says the people strengthened their hands for the good work. They gave, they served, they sacrificed—because they understood they were not just building walls; they were building a future, a community, and a testimony.

Today, our Building Fund carries that same spirit. We are continuing a legacy of faith-filled builders who refuse to leave God’s work unfinished. We see this again in Exodus, when Moses called the people to bring what they had for the tabernacle. And the Bible says, “Their hearts were stirred and their spirits were willing” (Exodus 35:21). So willing, in fact, that Moses eventually had to tell them, “Stop bringing offerings—we have more than enough!” (Exodus 36:6–7).

That’s what happens when God’s people catch the vision: generosity overflows, and the work gets done.

And through the prophet Haggai, God reminded His people that building His house is not optional—it’s purposeful. “Be strong… work, for I am with you,” the Lord says (Haggai 2:4). When we prioritize God’s house, He releases supernatural provision, glory, and peace (Haggai 2:7–9).

So why do we give?

Because building is worship.

Because generosity is obedience.

Because completing the work is our calling.

Every gift to toward completing the work helps to create a place where:

• Hearts encounter the love of Jesus
• Families are strengthened
• Children are discipled
• Community is restored
• The next generation finds hope

This is more than construction—it’s kingdom investment. It’s legacy work. It’s faith activated.

As we celebrate our Platinum Anniversary (70th year), and commit to Completing the Work, we declare just like Nehemiah, “The God of heaven will give us success” (Nehemiah 2:20). Let’s finish what God started—so generations to come will know His name.
