Job Title: Maintenance & Repair Coordinator

Classification: Non-exempt, Part-Time with additional “on-call” hours, as needed

Reports To: Director of Operations

Hiring Salary: $18/hr

 

 

Vision:

 

Bible Center Church (BCC) and its Community and Economic Development division, The Oasis Project (TOP), seeks a part-time Maintenance & Repair Specialist for the various properties associated with the Bible Center Campus in Homewood.

 

 

Key Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, HVAC systems, appliance installation and industrial hazardous waste removal
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • The ideal candidate will be responsive and flexible

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical repairs in community areas
  • Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as needed
  • Complete general building maintenance as needed for inspections
  • Install and replace flooring, stairs and piping as needed
  • Install or mount equipment as needed throughout our properties
  • Repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs, and other parts of our buildings
  • Maintain and repair air conditioning and heating systems as required
  • Industrial cleaning of office spaces, bathrooms, floors, kitchens, and other areas as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Environment:

This job will require walking, standing, bending, hauling, and lifting.

Job Title:        After School Teacher

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time (Monday through Friday)

Reports To:     Program Director

Salary:            $16-$18/hr

 

Key Qualifications:

·        18 years of age or older

·        High motivation to provide quality out of school time programming

·        Have the ability, desire, and passion to engage in mentoring and activities with school-aged youth

·        Have the ability to employ positive behavior modification techniques

·        Have the ability to obtain all required clearances PRIOR to working with children, (PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal, FBI Fingerprint Results, National Sex Offender Registry and Mandated Reporter Training Certification)

·        Have access to reliable transportation

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Build relationships with children and parents, cultivating an environment of collaboration and trust

·        Assist with the supervision of children and actively engage with them

·        Review, read and implement lesson plans which develop problem-solving and high-level thinking skills

·        Maintain policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff at all times

·        Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners

·        Attend and participate in training that will enhance ability to perform job functions

 

 

Core Hours: The school year program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Faison and Lincoln Elementary Schools in accordance with the Pittsburgh Public Schools calendar. The summer program is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Bible Center’s campus, located in the heart of Homewood.

Job Title: Lead Teacher, The Maker’s Clubhouse Early Learning Center

Classification: Exempt, Full-Time

Hiring Salary: $44,000

 

 

Vision:

 

Bible Center Church (BCC) and its Community and Economic Development division, The Oasis Project (TOP), seeks a full-time Preschool Teacher for The Maker’s Clubhouse Early Learning Center. The Maker’s Clubhouse Early Learning Center is among the region’s finest early childhood educational institutions. The lead teacher will be responsible for the academic and social-emotional growth and development of children, while working with parents.

 

 

Key Qualifications:

 

·        The ideal candidate must possess a four-year degree in early childhood education or a related field or a child development associate degree with three to five years’ experience in an early childhood classroom

·        The ideal candidate will have experience with lesson planning and the practice of teaching

·        The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills

·        The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with individualized education plans for children with special learning and behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Provide a nurturing and stimulating school environment to facilitate children’s growth, exploration, and participation

·        Provide a classroom culture that encourages parent participation

·        Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers in a confidential and professional manner

·        Plan parent conferences to discuss the developmental progress, interests and needs of the children

·        Monitor, address and document issues and concerns in a timely manner

·        Create weekly plans and implement age-appropriate curricula that nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child’s development

·        Creates and distributes monthly parent newsletters

·        Assist the Early Learning Center director with childcare regulatory compliance

·        Promotes good working relationships amongst the staff

·        Appropriately delegates tasks within the team, building on the strengths of the team

·        Works collaboratively with the early learning center director and senior leadership to ensure a unified approach to education and care of the children

Job Title: Early Learning Center Assistant Teacher

Classification: Part-time, Hourly, 30-40 hours per week

Reports To: Center Director

Payrate: $16/hr.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in early childhood education or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential preferred
  • Experience working with young children
  • Must meet all state clearance requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Patient and compassionate to young children's needs and emotions

  • Collaborate with other teachers to implement an age-appropriate curriculum

Job Title:       Cafe Team Member

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To:    Everyday Café Manager

Salary:           $13/hr + Tips

·        Available to perform many different tasks within the café during each shift

 

 

Core Hours: The Café is currently open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your shift will be determined in conjunction with the Café Manager.
