Job Title: Maintenance Worker

Classification: Non-exempt, Part-Time

Reports To: Director of Operations

Salary: $14-$18/hr

 

Vision:

Bible Center Church (BCC) and its Community and Economic Development division, The Oasis Project (TOP), seeks a part-time Maintenance & Repair Specialist for the various properties associated with the Bible Center Campus in Homewood.

 

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14 - $18 per hour

Expected hours: 15-30 hours per week

Benefits: Employee discount at Everyday Cafe

Work Location: In person

 

  • HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Carpentry skills are desired
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Space Set-up and Break-Down
  • Cleaning and restocking restrooms
  • Taking out trash and recycling
  • Washing windows and other surfaces
  • Performing basic maintenance tasks
  • Responding to cleaning emergencies (spills, biohazards, etc.)



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Required PA Background clearances must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment

  • Problem-solving: Identifying and diagnosing problems, developing solutions, and implementing them. 
  • Communication: Effectively communicating with customers, colleagues, and supervisors. 
  • Attention to Detail: Observing and identifying small issues that can lead to bigger problems. 
  • Time Management: Efficiently completing tasks within a reasonable timeframe. 
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other repair personnel and other departments. 
  • Physical Ability: Being physically capable of performing tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, or working in awkward positions. 
  • Customer Service: Being able to interact professionally with customers and address their needs. 
  • Adaptability: Being able to adjust to different situations and learn new skills. 

 

 

Work Environment

  • Indoors or outdoors around the Bible Center Church campus in Homewood
  • May include evening shifts, early mornings, and weekends
  • Often works as part of a small team

 

Job Title: Barista and Deli Assistant

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To: Everyday Café Manager

Salary: $13/hr + Tips


Key Qualifications:

• Demonstrate the ability to be positive, energetic, and friendly with customers and staff

• Available to work flexible hours (may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays)

• Engage with customers, including anticipating, discovering, and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication

• Professional demeanor

• Ability to multitask

• Ability to learn quickly

• Ability to read and memorize food and drink recipes

• Ability to memorize and follow operating procedures

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request

clarification as needed

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Completion of ServSafe food service course and testing within 90 days of hire

• Prior customer service experience required

• Prior barista or food service experience required


Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Everyday Cafe

• Maintains regular and punctual attendance

• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep thecafé operating at a high’ standard and to set a positive example for the community

• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues

• Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to operational needs

• Delivers phenomenal customer service to all customers by having a positive attitude and delivering a great experience

• Follows Everyday Cafe’s operational policies and procedures

• Provides quality food and beverages consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards

• Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products

• Available to perform many different tasks within the café during each shift


Core Hours: The Café is currently open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your shift will be determined in conjunction with the Café Manager.


Physical Environment: Job will require walking, standing for 8-hour shifts, bending and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds
