Job Title:                    Site Manager Out of School Time Program

Classification:             Non-Exempt, Hourly

Reports To:                 Director of the Maker’s Clubhouse

Hiring Range:             $21.15/hr- $22.60/hr

The Maker’s Clubhouse, an outreach program of Bible Center Church, works to positively transform the life outcomes for children, in particular in Homewood. We have served Faison students since fall 2011 in various capacities. We currently serve Pittsburgh Faison K-5 and Lincoln Elementary schools after school and during the summer through a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to social skills groups, robotics, athletics, and other STEAM focused activities.

 

Position Overview: The Site Manager supports the Director by ensuring the effective set up and efficient running of the programs at Faison and Lincoln Elementary Schools as well as the summer camp programming for Bible Center Church. The role will ensure that quality standards and regulatory standards are met and adhered to the Maker’s Clubhouse standards. The individual must take ownership and responsibility to solve problems, seek help when needed and be willing and available to help and guide others.

 

Job Requirements and Essential Functions

  • Ability to design and develop curriculum a plus combined with strong decision-making skills and the ability to know how to diffuse behaviors when/as they escalate.
  • Support the Director in setting the weekly and monthly schedule as directed and ensure protocols are adhered to.
  • Ensure the protocols and administrative functions of Maker’s Clubhouse run efficiently.
  • Apply effective project management tools and techniques to ensure workflows and processes are efficient and streamlined.
  • Able to keep the environment clean and safe from obstructions at all times and maintain a sanitary environment that is germ free and pathogen free.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4-Year Degree preferred or High School Diploma with 3-5 years’ experience
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience working with staff and children, preferably in an environment where teaching is taking place
  • Personal computer literacy with Word Products and Google Suite of products preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Able to tolerate standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs. or stooping during 80% of shift time
  • Must pass background check and all required childcare clearances criteria and drug test as requested
  • Must have reliable transportation or access to get to work timely

Attendance

  • Understands posted work schedule and reports to work as scheduled, on time and ready to begin tasks. Provides appropriate notice when unable to be at work.
  • Understands and uses the approved timekeeping system, including accurately recording all hours worked.

Initiative and Energy

  • Takes action without being told, goes beyond what is simply required and maintains a high activity level.
  • Proactive in applying trauma informed care principles and practices.

Job Title: Early Learning Center Classroom Aide

Classification: Part-time, Hourly, 20 hours per week

Reports To: Center Director

Payrate: $16/hr.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with young children
  • Must pass all background checks and obtain necessary clearances
  • Excellent and positive tone and verbal communication skills
  • Patient and compassionate to young children's needs and emotions
  • The ideal candidate will be flexible and creative

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with lunch and snack preparation
  • Engage and encourage students to use their language skills; develop social skills and manners
  • Engage with students' playtime and physical activities
  • Engage with parents during pick-up or drop-off times in a professional manner
  • Enforce school-wide safety procedures
  • Supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch, and play periods
  • Ensure space and learning materials are clean, sanitized, and orderly
  • Collaborate with other teachers to implement an age-appropriate curriculum
  • Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities
  • Lead children through activities that promote their academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth
  • Follow all protocols for closing the facility
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Physical Environment:

This job will require walking, standing, bending and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, at times.

Job Title:        After School Teacher

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time (Monday through Friday)

Reports To:     Program Director

Salary:            $16-$18/hr

 

Key Qualifications:

·        18 years of age or older

·        High motivation to provide quality out of school time programming

·        Have the ability, desire, and passion to engage in mentoring and activities with school-aged youth

·        Have the ability to employ positive behavior modification techniques

·        Have the ability to obtain all required clearances PRIOR to working with children, (PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal, FBI Fingerprint Results, National Sex Offender Registry and Mandated Reporter Training Certification)

·        Have access to reliable transportation

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Build relationships with children and parents, cultivating an environment of collaboration and trust

·        Assist with the supervision of children and actively engage with them

·        Review, read and implement lesson plans which develop problem-solving and high-level thinking skills

·        Maintain policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff at all times

·        Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners

·        Attend and participate in training that will enhance ability to perform job functions

 

 

Core Hours: The school year program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Faison and Lincoln Elementary Schools in accordance with the Pittsburgh Public Schools calendar. The summer program is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Bible Center’s campus, located in the heart of Homewood.

 

 

 

Physical Environment: Job will require standing, bending, sitting, walking and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds at times.
