Job Title: Farm Outreach and Engagement Coordinator

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To: Farm Manager

Salary: $17-$19 per hour

Timeframe: November 2025- March 2025, 5 to 10 hours per week

 

Key Qualifications:

o  1-3 years of experience in culturally responsive, community outreach or volunteer coordination

o  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

o  Demonstrated commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds

o  Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to lead by example

o  Effective communication and interpersonal skills

o  Experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Office Suite, or similar programs

o  Must provide required background clearances (Federal, State, Child Abuse)

o  Reliable transportation

o  Knowledge of outdoor safety, food systems, and urban farming

o  Interest in community development and food justice

o  Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments

o  Some lifting and working in various weather conditions

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

o  Community Outreach

o  Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of farm programs

o  Represent the organization at community events, festivals, farmers markets, and neighborhood meetings

o  Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and faith-based groups

o  Create and distribute materials that effectively communicate the farm's mission

o  Engage with diverse residents and ensure programming is culturally responsive

o  Keep volunteers engaged and informed Volunteer Program Coordination

o  Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for farm activities and special events

o  Develop volunteer orientation materials and training protocols

o  Maintain volunteer database and tracking systems

o  Create meaningful volunteer opportunities that support both the farm and volunteers

o  Plan and implement volunteer appreciation activities

o  Collaborate on sharing volunteer stories and experiences

o  Assist with farm production and maintenance of outdoor learning spaces

o  Attend relevant trainings and meetings

o  Contribute as an active member of the Bible Center team

Job Title: Barista and Deli Assistant

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To: Everyday Café Manager

Salary: $13/hr + Tips


Key Qualifications:

• Demonstrate the ability to be positive, energetic, and friendly with customers and staff

• Available to work flexible hours (may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays)

• Engage with customers, including anticipating, discovering, and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication

• Professional demeanor

• Ability to multitask

• Ability to learn quickly

• Ability to read and memorize food and drink recipes

• Ability to memorize and follow operating procedures

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification as needed

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Completion of ServSafe food service course and testing within 90 days of hire

• Prior customer service experience required

• Prior barista or food service experience required


Key Responsibilities:

• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Everyday Cafe

• Maintains regular and punctual attendance

• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the café operating at a high’ standard and to set a positive example for the community

• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues

• Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to operational needs

• Delivers phenomenal customer service to all customers by having a positive attitude and delivering a great experience

• Follows Everyday Cafe’s operational policies and procedures

• Provides quality food and beverages consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards

• Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products

• Available to perform many different tasks within the café during each shift


Core Hours: The Café is currently open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your shift will be determined in conjunction with the Café Manager.


Physical Environment: Job will require walking, standing for 8-hour shifts, bending and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds.

The Maker’s Clubhouse out of school time program is a child-centered ministry of The Oasis Project, the community outreach and economic development division of Bible Center Church, designed to change the trajectory of the lives of youth through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture & Math) focused educational programming and social emotional learning.

 

Job Title:         After School Teacher

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To:     Program Director

Hiring Salary:    $16-$18/hr

 

Key Qualifications:

·     18 years of age or older

·      High motivation to provide quality out of school time programming

·      Have the ability, desire, and passion to engage in mentoring and activities with school-aged youth

·      Have the ability to employ positive behavior modification techniques

·      Have the ability to obtain required clearances (PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal, FBI Fingerprint Results, National Sex Offender Registry and

Mandated Reporter Training Certification)

·      Have access to reliable transportation

 

Key Responsibilities:

·      Build relationships with children and parents, cultivating an environment of collaboration and trust

·      Assist with the supervision of children and actively engage with them

·      Review, read and implement lesson plans which develop problem-solving and high-level thinking skills

·      Maintain policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff at all times

·      Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners

·      Attend and participate in training that will enhance ability to perform job functions

 


Core Hours: The school year program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Faison and Lincoln Elementary Schools in accordance with the Pittsburgh Public Schools calendar.

 

Physical Environment: Job will require standing, bending, sitting, walking and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds at times.
