For Bible Center's 70th Anniversary Weekend, we will revisit a time when the small Congregation at 7236 Bennett Street left the building and went on an outreach mission to bless the community of Homewood. Dawning our throwback "Bible Center Loves Homewood" tee-shirts, we will go out and be a blessing to our neighbors in Homewood on Saturday, June 27th from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.
Our Itinerary:
- Meet at the Bible Center W.A.R.M. (Worship, Arts, Recreation & Ministry Center) located at 717 N. Homewood Avenue, at 9:30 A.M. for continental breakfast
- Pray together at 9:45 A.M.
- Disperse to the community in our ministry teams at 10:00 A.M.
- Return to the W.A.R.M. Center at 1:00 P.M. for a "Parking Lot" Cookout and Fellowship

Team 1: Community Outreach Ministers
Love meeting people and getting some steps in? Join us as a Community Outreach Minister! Ministers will walk through the Homewood neighborhood, knock on doors, share information about our organization, and hand out gift cards to our neighbors—all with a friendly smile and positive energy. Perfect for friendly, outgoing folks who enjoy being out in the community.
In this role, you will:
- Say hello our neighbors
- Spread the word about Bible Center
- Make a real, local impact to the Homewood community
- Travel in groups of 3 (need 15 Ministers)
Team 2: Community Prayer Ministers
Love our community and enjoy a peaceful walk? Join us as a Community Prayer Minister! Ministers will walk through the Homewood neighborhood, praying for our neighbors, families, homes, and community—offering hope, kindness, and positive presence along the way.
In this role, you will:
- Walk with purpose
- Pray for peace, healing, health, and connection
- Make a meaningful impact, one block at a time
- Travel in groups of 3 (need 15 Ministers)
Team 3: Gather and Grill Ministers
Love feeding people and firing up the grill? Join us as a Gather and Grill Minister! We’re looking for a friendly Minister to help serve a continental breakfast and help host a cookout after our Bless the Block event! Perfect for grill masters, party starters, and anyone who loves bringing people together. Food, fun, and good vibes guaranteed!
In this role, you will:
- Set up a light breakfast
- Serve lunch including grilled hot dogs & hamburgers
- Help clean up after serving food
- Help create a warm, welcoming celebration for our Bless the Block Ministers.
- Need 6-8 Ministers, including 1-2 grill masters
Team 4: Clean-Up Crew Ministers
Grab some gloves and help us show love to our neighborhood! Join us as a Clean-Up Crew Minister. We’re looking for Ministers to help clean up the Homewood area surrounding Bible Center Church by picking up litter and freshening up the blocks.
In this role, you will:
- Go to a selected spaces in the neighborhood
- Pick up trash & tidy up
- Make a visible difference for the community
- Will clean up in groups of 4-5 (need 12-15 Ministers)
