Job Title: Outreach + Engagement Coordinator

Department: Oasis Farm Classification:

Non-Manager, Part-time, Seasonal

Reports To: Farm Manager

Compensation: $17-20/ hour, depending on experience.

Benefits include, discount at the Everyday Cafe and mileage reimbursement for work use of vehicle.

Location: Oasis Farm, 7238 Fleury Way, Homewood, 15208

Schedule: 20-30 hours per week, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.

Timeframe: June - November 2025


Oasis Farm is a demonstrative and educational microfarm in Homewood. We engage children, adults, and the community through food, nutrition, and farming. We grow quality, hyper-local, affordable, nutritious, and culturally-important fresh produce for our programs, events and community. More than just an urban farm - Oasis Farm is a vibrant hub dedicated to fostering food access, sustainable agriculture, and deep connections. Overview Oasis Farm is seeking an energetic and personable Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to strengthen our community connections and increase volunteerism in our urban agriculture and educational programs. Working closely with the Farm Manager, this role helps build awareness of our work and create meaningful opportunities for community involvement.


Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach

● Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of farm programs

● Represent the organization at community events, festivals, farmers markets, and neighborhood meetings

● Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and faith-based groups

● Create and distribute materials that effectively communicate the farm's mission

● Engage with diverse residents and ensure programming is culturally responsive

● Keep volunteers engaged and informed Volunteer Program Coordination

● Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for farm activities and special events

● Develop volunteer orientation materials and training protocols

● Maintain volunteer database and tracking systems

● Create meaningful volunteer opportunities that support both the farm and volunteers

● Plan and implement volunteer appreciation activities

● Collaborate on sharing volunteer stories and experiences Additional Responsibilities

● Assist with farm production and maintenance of outdoor learning spaces

● Attend relevant trainings and meetings

● Contribute as an active member of the Bible Center team Qualifications Must Have

● 1-3 years of experience in culturally responsive, community outreach or volunteer coordination

● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

● Demonstrated commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds

● Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to lead by example

● Effective communication and interpersonal skills

● Experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Office Suite, or similar programs

● Must provide required background clearances (Federal, State, Child Abuse)

● Reliable transportation Nice to Have

● Knowledge of outdoor safety, food systems, and urban farming

● Interest in community development and food justice Physical Requirements

● Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments

● Some lifting up to 40 pounds and working in various weather conditions

Position Overview We're seeking an energetic and personable Farm Summer Camp Educator passionate about connecting youth with food systems, environmental sustainability, and urban farming. The ideal candidate has experience in youth development, garden education, and experiential learning, with the ability to create engaging educational activities for children in grades K-8.


Key Responsibilities Education & Youth Engagement

● Design and implement age-appropriate activities for youth in grades K-8

● Co-develop and follow program timeline for Summer Camp implementation

● Create educational materials highlighting urban farming and sustainability

Job Title: Barista and Deli Specialist

Classification: Non-Manager, Part-Time

Reports To: Everyday Café Manager

Salary: $13/hr + Tips, and Employee Discount at the Cafe

• Available to perform many different tasks within the café during each shift Core Hours: The Café is currently open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your shift will be determined in conjunction with the Café Manager.


Physical Environment: Job will require walking, standing for 8-hour shifts, bending and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds.

Job Title: On-Call Preschool Assistant Teacher

Location: The Maker’s Clubhouse Early Learning Center

Reports To: Center Director

Hours: As needed, Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Compensation: $17-$19 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a responsible and reliable On-Call Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team. This position requires flexibility and availability to work on short notice during business hours. The ideal candidate will assist the Director and teaching staff in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. You will be expected to support classroom activities, ensure children's safety, and help with daily routines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily care and supervision of preschool-aged children.
  • Implement activities and lessons under the guidance of the lead teacher.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ensure all children are accounted for and supervised at all times.
  • Assist with snack, lunch, and nap routines.
  • Support classroom management and behavior guidance strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and parents as needed.


Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to come in on short notice.
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks, including:

-PA Child Abuse History Clearance

-PA Criminal History Clearance

-FBI Fingerprinting

-National Sex Offender Registry Certification

  • Completion of Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Child Health and Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
